Cards for a Pro-Life Prisoner of Conscience

Mary Wagner (age 39) has been in prison since August 15th, 2012, when she was arrested for witnessing to abortion-bound women in a Toronto facility. That was her sixth arrest since she took up her campaign in March 2010. In all, she has spent nearly three years behind bars since then. Mary has remained in prison this year, so to support her efforts some friends have organized a campaign to send her cards and letters. Sending her a card is a Corporal Work of Mercy – that of visiting those who are in prison. This heroic women is following the 8th Beatitude: Blessed are they that suffer persecution for justice’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Nevertheless, it’s a hard time of year to be away from family, let alone to be in jail for a just cause. The least we can do is let her know she’s in our thoughts and prayers.
